4X4 SERVICES

The technicians at Saint's Automotive Service Center have years of experience working on standard 4-wheel drive (4x4) vehicles as well as all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicles. AWD is a full-time 4-wheel-drive system (all four wheels receive torque from the engine simultaneously) that employs a center differential that allows each tire to rotate at different speeds.

We understand the special needs of these vehicles. These are some of the services we offer.

Transmissions
Transmission repair is not something to take lightly. The transmission is connected to key parts of your vehicle and needs to be working properly for your safety. Transmission services include replacing filters and draining fluids to prevent transmission damage. Typical transmission issues that may lead to repair may include shifting issues, slipping, stalling, fluid leaking, and the service light turning on. If you are concerned that you may need transmission repair, don't hesitate to schedule an appointment at Saint's Automotive Service Center today.

Transfer Cases
A transfer case is a part of a four wheel drive system found in four wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles. The transfer case receives power from the transmission and sends it to both the front and rear axles. This can be done with a set of gears, but the majority of transfer cases manufactured today are chain driven. The transfer case is connected to the transmission and also to the front and rear axles by means of drive shafts. Trust the automotive experts at Saint's Automotive Service Center for all your transmission repairs.

Differentials
The differential transfers the engine power to the wheels. One important function of the differential is to pass on power to the wheels while allowing them to rotate at different speeds - thus the name differential. When turning, the outer wheels travel a larger distance than the inner wheels do (also the front wheels travel a longer distance than the rear wheels). This means that all four wheels travel at different speeds during a turn and this is where the differential comes in to help. To make sure your vehicle's differentials are working properly, have them checked regularly. Contact Saint's Automotive Service Center today for differentials examination and servicing.

Driveline
A driveline is a part of your motor vehicle that connects the engine and the transmission to the wheel axles. The driveline consists of the parts of the powertrain less the engine and transmission. Failure of the driveline means that the car would not move since energy cannot be transmitted from the engine to the wheel axles. Therefore, make sure that your car's driveline is regularly inspected and serviced. And, at Saint's Automotive Service Center, you can have the driveline serviced by experts.

Alignment
Wheel alignment (or simply alignment) is standard car maintenance that involves adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the manufacturer's specifications. The main purpose is to let the suspension and the steering systems operate at their desired angles - this reduces tire wear. Alignment is a complicated process and not all mechanics get it right. To have experts handle your car's alignment, visit Saint's Automotive Service Center.

Wheel Bearings
Wheel bearings are found inside of wheels, allowing the wheels to spin freely, and are connected to the brake system. They can become worn over time, causing a vibrating suspension and noisy rubbing as the car is driven. If they break completely, the vehicle will become very difficult to control and unsafe to drive. Replacement interval for wheel bearings varies greatly, but they should be checked for leaks and wear periodically. Saint's Automotive Service Center can make sure that your bearings are in good shape and let you know if they need replacement.

Hubs, Seals, Studs, & Nuts
A wheel hub motor, also referred to as a wheel motor, is an electric motor incorporated into the wheel hub and drives it directly. You can have a safer and smoother ride today by replacing your warped and worn out wheel hubs. Let Saint's Automotive Service Center replace your worn out hubs today.

Properly working seals provide oil and grease sealing - offering enhanced performance in a wide range of temperatures and environments. Worn out or warped seals allow external contaminants to enter the bearing unit or let lubricant escape from the unit. This ultimately leads to premature failure of the bearing unit. To keep out contamination and retain lubricant in the bearings, have the seals replaced with new ones. To have the seals replaced by experts, contact or visit Saint's Automotive Service Center today.

Studs are the threaded fasteners that hold on the wheels of your truck. The wheel studs are permanently mounted on the wheel hub through the brake disk or brake drum. To secure the wheel, nuts (lug nuts) are fastened over the stud. Stripped wheel studs can be quite dangerous. Damaged wheel studs should be replaced with new ones immediately. To have your truck's wheel studs replaced with high quality ones, call 763-389-9777 or visit Saint's Automotive Service Center today.

A wheel nut or lug nut is a fastener for securing a wheel on the hub. A set of lug nuts are used to secure a wheel to the threaded wheel studs (which are fixed to a wheel hub). Worn out nuts means one thing - the wheel is not fixed securely on the vehicle which puts the vehicle at the risk of rolling over. To have your truck's wheels securely fastened to the hub, contact or visit Saint's Automotive Service Center in Princeton, MN 55371 today.

  • Fantastic Service for my Saabs. Great staff with expertise and willingness to go the extra mile. I will only use Saints.
    -Steve W.

  • Dave is the best! If you want an HONEST and fair guy that'll give you the real problem, and tell you what needs to be done right away and what can wait a little, this is where you want to be. I don't feel like I have to check anything out with my "motor head" friends because Dave is always honest with his customers.
    -Lynda P.

  • I drive up to Saints before I would go to the dealer with my Honda!
    -Ben B.

  • I just want to say thank you for taking such good care of my car over the past 20 some years. You are probably the most honest and trustworthy auto repair shop in Minnesota. One of my only regrets about moving to Michigan is that you are not moving too.

I wish you much success and happiness in the years ahead.
    -Sandi G.

  • I just wanted to thank you for many years of great service. I've always felt confident with your accurate assessments of any issues with my car. I also appreciate your fair pricing and that you never have tried selling me service or parts I don't need.
    -Shirley C.

  • Once again, SaintsAuto has proven themselves to be the place to take your car to. I have a 1993 Subaru Impreza that I bought new in 1993. I love this car, but it's getting old. This is the second time I've brought my car to Saints for a different problem. It's hard to find the right parts for my car due to age. Both Dave and Jeff stayed with it. To the point that Dave even gave up his Saturday (when they are closed) to work on it. I can't thank Dave and Jeff enough for their efforts and the headaches we experienced for my situation. I would give Saints Auto a 10 star rating if they had a rating system on this site.

  • Saints Auto is a top quality service center. It is not always easy for me to walk into a service shop and feel comfortable, as I don't know much about vehicles. At Saints they put you at ease. They are very friendly and honest. They go above and beyond the call of duty. Recently I had my car serviced, just routine maintenance. Oil change, courtesy inspection. I had a musty smell in my vents, they totally resolved the issue. I feel when I leave there that my car is in top running condition. They are professional yet treat you like a friend. Thank you Dave and Jeff!!
    -Teresa P.

  • Dear Dave & Jeff,

Third time is the charm! Just a little note to say thank you for staying with me and my car to get the issue with the gas sensor resolved.

I truly appreciate your thoroughness and honesty; it's a rare commodity in today's world.

I will refer you to anyone I know and I will definitely be back for any future repairs on my "Binky" that I may need. For my sake, not too soon.

Jeff, you are awesome with customers. You're quite the salesman and you're very knowledgeable. I'll miss our conversations until I come back again. Dave, what can I say. You're a great mechanic! I appreciate the experience I had with both of you.
    -Suzzette

  • Going to Saint's Automotive was the BEST choice we could have made! There are many choices for auto repair in Elk River/Zimmerman/Princeton/Milaca area. We are newer to the area and wanted to find a place closer to our house rather than driving to Wayzata each time we needed a car service or repair. We went to Saint's Automotive for the first time this spring. We needed extensive maintenance performed on my husband's truck that we had let lapse. After taking a through look at the truck, Jeff took the time to go over each and every service that was due and honestly told us what NEEDED to be done ASAP. I told him we were on a tight budget and he worked with us to identify what were the most serious needs for the vehicle and what could wait. They did a fantastic job with the maintenance that was performed! The truck ran like it was brand new and the prices were more than fair.

We then brought my SUV to them to for an oil change. Saint's Automotive was able to identify problems/issues with the vehicle that the dealership missed. Instead of telling us what the repairs would cost and insisting to do have them performed immediately they instructed me to contact the dealership and urge them to perform the repairs as they should be under warranty. Saint's Automotive was right! The dealership performed all repairs found by Saint's and Saint's Automotive saved us $700 because everything was covered under warranty!

I recommend everyone to Saint's Automotive. My parents now drive from Plymouth to Princeton because of their exceptional honesty, detail and fair pricing. Saint's Automotive is better than any dealership I have ever been. They have my highest recommendation! I simply cannot praise this business enough!!
    -Paul and Caitlyn S.

  • I have been coming to Saint's Auto for vehicle service for the last 11 years. Personally I would not bring my vehicle anywhere else if circumstances permitted. Dave has always been a very trustworthy, personable and intelligent mechanic with great values.

It is great to see his business grow with the addition of a very friendly energetic new service advisor (Jeff) , and well trained adverse mechanic(Nathan). I will continue referring business in Saint's direction and would suggest to everyone to bring their vehicle here for service no matter the make or model of vehicle. You're sure to be pleased with the outcome.
    -Alan P.
